Twisting has been the most common form of rope construction. This popularity is due to its ability to stay true to its form, rather than spin or untwist, while holding a load. Rope may be braided using one of these styles: diamond with cores, hollow diamond, and solid braid. A diamond braid core is solid material positioned in rope’s center, underneath its braid, that increases rope strength.
